Boo Who?
"I've fished Alaska waters for over 20 years and can honestly say that I get excited every day that I get to fish." Few people enjoy fishing as much as Boo, a.k.a. Ron Kandas, and it shows. A day of fishing with Boo is a total package. In addition to fishing with one of the area's most skilled guides, you will likely leave the river with a smile that will last for hours – possibly days – maybe weeks.
Boo has been fishing since he was a young boy growing up in Montana. His talents were recognized early as he became a "guide" to family and friends, and it wasn't uncommon to hear, "That Boo! He could catch a fish from an empty bathtub!"
His enthusiasm for fishing is addictive and is evident by his many repeat customers. Helping clients to have an enjoyable and productive fishing trip is top priority. Boo truly enjoys the profession, whether it be assisting a first time angler with a huge halibut, or watching a seasoned fisherman land a trophy king salmon.
After becoming an Alaska fishing guide, Boo established Tall Tale Charters in 1988 and has continually provided excellent Kenai Peninsula guided fishing trips to visitors from around the world. Boo is a member of the Kenai River Professional Guide Association, holds a 50-ton Coast Guard masters license, and has extensive knowledge and experience fishing for salmon, trout, halibut, ling cod and rockfish.
If you are interested in fishing the Kenai or Kasilof Rivers, Cook Inlet, or Seward's Resurrection Bay, there is no doubt that Boo can help you find the fish.
